Dick and Jane's is celebrating an incredible milestone: our 38th year in business! 🎉
Since opening our doors in April 1989 in Jacksonville, Florida, we've proudly held the title of the city's oldest hobby and collectibles store. What started as a passion for sports cards has grown into a beloved community hub for collectors, gamers, and enthusiasts of all ages.
A Legacy Built on Cards, Games, and Community
Back in 1989, the hobby world looked a little different—think wax packs of baseball cards, the dawn of the junk wax era, and the early buzz around emerging trading card games. We jumped in headfirst as a traditional full-service sports card shop, and we've never looked back.
Over the decades, we've evolved right alongside the hobbies we love:
- Expanding into Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and other TCGs with boosters, singles, and sealed product
- Adding a strong lineup of modern and vintage board games (no longer carry)
- Becoming a go-to spot for non-sports cards, autographs, and graded cards (we're proud PSA dealers!)
- Watching trends come and go—from boom times to busts—and staying steady through it all
Through market shifts, new generations of collectors, and even a global pandemic, we've remained committed to one thing: being THE Local Hobby Shop where everyone feels welcome.
